People suspected that railroad workers burned mail to keep them warm during the cold winter. Everyone was broke in Chong Jin especially teachers they didn’t get paid over a year. Mrs. Sung would make tofu, soups, or stew. 12 million people died and finally the famine ends because enough people die. Mrs. Sung sells pigs, showed buy corn instead of penicillin.
